For many people, staying healthy is an important part of life. However, itís often difficult to find the time to exercise, much less the motivation. That why the Food Bank RGV is excited to present Ride Against Hunger 2010. The Food Bank RGV invites cyclists, runners and walkers of all ages and experience to have an opportunity to get together for fun, health, and most importantly to feed the hungry here at home.

Amateur and professional cyclists are encouraged to register, registration fee is $25 per person, and $10 or a generous donation of canned goods for children under the age of 12. The ride will begin and end at the Sharyland Plantation sports park on 4201 South Shary Road in Mission. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, snacks, water, and lunch following the event.

Riders are asked to meet at the park at 6:30 a.m. to register and pick up their event packets. The first group of riders will leave at 7:45 a.m. Ride Against Hunger is a bike ride that ranges from 25, 40, and 60 miles and also includes a 5k walk/run. The ride includes three rest stops where water and snacks will be provided for participants.

The Food Bank RGV is exceptionally grateful to Sierra Title Company for their generous donation and ongoing support as well as Nicho Produce, Watermill Express, Sharyland Plantation, and Subway.
