A day of national remembrance will be celebrated at the Veterans War Memorial of Texas beginning at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day, May 31. The ceremony will be held at the Veterans War Memorial of Texas located next to the McAllen Convention Center at 29th Street and Galveston Street.
In addition to the National Memorial Services to remember all the service members that gave their lives in the service of this Nation, there will be a dedication of a granite wall inscribed with the photos and citations of three military Chaplains awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. This medal is the highest award bestowed on the U.S. military for valorous actions and courageous deeds under enemy fire.
All veterans, non-veterans, families, teachers, students, and other community members are encouraged to attend and remember the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our Nation.
