In today’s increasingly competitive retail business environment it is vitally important to position your business so that it is the first one they think of when they need your product or service.

By creating a preference for your business through effective advertising practices, small and medium size businesses can compete with larger competitors capable to slashing prices to establish dominance.

The Valley Town Crier is helping local businesses position themselves at the top of their market through a program called Top of Mind Awareness (TOMA). Mark Rood of TOMA recently outlined the strategy at a seminar for local businesses sponsored by the Town Crier and its sister papers in the Valley.

TOMA stresses building name awareness through regular and effective advertising practices to get a business’ name in front of consumers.

The Town Crier and TOMA recently conducted a survey of the name awareness of local businesses in a wide variety of business categories. “Being first in the consumer’s mind is the key to real business success,” Rood said.
