AUSTIN – Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Constable Larry Gallardo was honored this week at a graduation ceremony for the 2010-11 Leadership Class of the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) Leadership Program. Constable Gallardo is one of only 17 county officials from around the state who graduated from the 2010-2011 class.
The class, which takes eight months to complete, is designed specifically for county officials and helps participants develop effective leadership skills, explore county issues, and enact meaningful change for the betterment of county government and their communities. This is the fifth year the class has been held, and enrollment is limited.
"Larry is an outstanding county official, one whose leadership and commitment to making local government more efficient and effective is very important to the taxpayers of Hidalgo County," said TAC President Vernon Cook, Roberts County judge.
The Texas Association of Counties is a statewide organization whose members are county government officials throughout Texas.
