Lydia Cantu Campos entered eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 13, at the age of 63 years.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1946, to Carlos and Nellie Cantu. She was a long time resident of Edinburg. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity and her overall life of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Roberto, Raul, and Rufus Cantu; her sisters, Soila Gonzalez, Carlota Guerra; her nephew, Roland Zapata; and her companion, Ramiro Rodriguez.
Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Beanira Campos (Austin), a son, Carlos Omar (Jessica) Campos and two grandsons whom she adored: Christian and Isaiah Campos. Also her cat, Spike; her brothers and sisters; Anita Fuerte (+Lucas), Jose Rogelio Cantu (Ofelia), Ruben (Otila) Cantu, Estella Lopez (+Joe) Irene (Ocampo) Gomez and Mary Esther (Luis) Saldana.
The family received friends and family at Gonzalez Family Funeral Home with a holy rosary.
The mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Feb. 16 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Edinburg. Burial followed to Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family of Lydia Cantu Campos entrusted the care of Gonzalez Family Funeral Home, LLC, 812 E. Cano, Edinburg, to handle the funeral services.
