Edinburg – Linda Luzann Pena Garza, age 59, of Edinburg, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Linda Luzann was born August 8, 1959, in Rio Grande City to Frances Isassi. Linda was lovingly raised by adoptive parents Antonio Pena and Dolores Isassi Pena of Rio Grande City.
She is survived by her half brothers and sisters, Leonora Isassi Marroquin, Ramon Isassi Jr., David Michael Isassi, Lori Ann Isassi, and Elias Rene Isassi, from Kingsville, TX.
Linda is preceded in death by her three adoring sons, Eddie, Marcus, and AJ.
Family, friends, and the community of Edinburg will forever remember the family of three boys whose lives were affected, but not hindered, by Muscular Dystrophy. In their wheelchairs, the younger boys would be seen weekly on Friday nights as part of the Bobcat Band half time shows, racing their wheelchairs across the football stadium, proudly carrying the Edinburg High School Band’s show flags that had been adapted to their wheelchairs by their devoted stepdad, Frank Garza. Linda would always be seen in the stadium bleachers, proudly cheering and supporting her sons’ performance.
Linda will greatly be missed by her friends, family, and all whose lives are forever changed through the power of strength, and love, and joy that Linda and “her boys” possessed and tenderly shared with everyone whose lives they touched.
A Memorial to celebrate and honor Linda’s life will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
All Funeral Arrangements for Linda are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
