Edinburg CISD Audio Video Production Program students competed in the Labor Day Cinesol 36-Hour Film Race and came home with six film awards.

The students had 36 hours to produce a 10-minute film that focused on Horror (movie genre). They produced a film called "Sweaters" which won the Bravo 2 Award; $250 for Best Film by a Team Under 18-Years-Of-Age; the Audience Choice Award; Best Ensemble Cast; and Comic Relief Award in a Horror Film. The team also won the Award for Best Editing Trick for the film "Half and Half." Each film can be seen on SchoolTube.com by searching for them by keying in the name Edinburg or the name of the films. Film trailers for both films can be seen at KRGV.com. The students were recognized at the Oct. 11, 2011 meeting of the Edinburg CISD Board of Trustees.
