THACKERVILLE, Okla. — Sherman’s Sebastian Pineras tied for third place at the District 5-5A preview golf tournament held at WinStar Resort and Golf Academy.

Pineras shot a 76 and was four shots back of first as Sherman finished fifth as a team with a combined 352.

Parker Samuelson shot 90, Sean Rose was at 91, Zane Truly carded a 95 and Dylan Osborn finished with a 118.

Denison was sixth with a 354.

Cameron Ruebeck led the Yellow Jackets with an 82 to place 17th. Noah Jones had an 86, Coleman Muirhead finished with a 90, Will Myers had a 97 and Carson Trotter a 101.

Plainview won the team title with a score of 306, Rider was second at 310, and Wichita Falls was third at 343.

On the girls side, Denison’s Sara Shumaker tied for 11th with an 86 as the Lady Jackets were eighth with a combined 428.

Kelly Neidert had a 102, Emily Joie carded a 108 and Hannah Hilleman was at 132.

Sherman was ninth with a 487. Alexa Antilla shot a 96, Kate Gionfriddo was at 122, Channing Shea had a 123 and Destiny Nicholson was at 146.

Plainview won the team title with a score of 311, Denton High was second at 342, and Lake Dallas was third at 344.

The District 5-5A golf tournament will be held on April 4-5 for the girls and on April 10-11 for the boys at WinStar.
