McALLEN Tomorrow night at STFC 11 Night of Champions Joseph Daily will defend his 170 class title against Abram Torrez of Edinburg.

The event will take place at the McAllen Convention center. Tickets for the event are available at or any of the convention center's ticket outlets.

This will be the first title defense for Daily because the fighter he was suppose to fight at STFC 12 was not able to fight. This is also the third installment of Daily vs. Torrez. The first fight went to Daily via rear naked choke and the second fight went to Torrez via split decision.

"I'm in the best shape of my life," Torrez said at the weigh-in. "I've never been able to go so many rounds and I know my skills have gotten better stand up and on the ground."

Torrez explained that during his training he has been able to train for 10 five minute rounds consecutively because tomorrow night the fight will be five five minute rounds.

Daily is prepared for his defense, feels confident and doesn't have his usual prefight jitters.

"Usually at this point I'm nervous, shaking, wanting to throw up but right now I'm fine," Daily said.

For this fight Daily has prepared for Torrez so he's ready for the challenge. The last time he entered the octagon with Torrez he prepared for a different fighter and Torrez got the best of him.

"The last time I fought (Abram) I was preparing to fight someone who has a ground game," Daily said. "It was my fault, it's MMA and you're suppose to prepare for everything and he was just a better fighter that day."

Also fighting on the STFC 11 Night of Champions card will be DeeJay Fuentez vs Goyo Rubalava for the 145 class title and also from Edinburg Salinas will face off against Chris Brooks in the 165 class.
